Spring 1970 I was trying to decide what to do after high school. I was taking an art class from Ruth Tennant, who announced out of the blue one day that she had decided to add a unit on city planning to the class.
I got really caught up in that unit and decided to major in city planning in college. Ultimately, I went east and got a Masters in City and Regional Planning. Since then, I have worked in the field for 32 years. Miss Tennant never knew what an influence her small decision to add city planning to that art class had on one life, but I will be forever grateful.
