Gerry Ann Tynan McCuaig

Mead, Gerry A. Tynan McCuaig 80 09/30/1929 03/06/2010 Geraldine Ann Tynan was born Sept. 30, 1929, and passed away March 6, 2010, at her home in Charbonneau with her husband and children by her side.

Gerry was the younger of two daughters born to Lawrence and Evelyn Tynan. She grew up and lived in the Mt. Tabor area until she married her Washington High School sweetheart, Jim McCuaig, in 1950, after his return from the Korean War. Together they raised their children Brad and Jane in the Eastmoreland neighborhood.

Gerry was a dedicated homemaker and helped pay expenses by running a small printing business out of her home. Having raised the kids, they followed their golfing dream and moved to Charbonneau. Throughout her life she shared her passions with a large circle of friends and enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, camping, parties at the beach and golfing. In 1988 Jim McCuaig passed away, and in 1990 Gerry married Jim Mead another friend at Charbonneau.

She shared the remainder of her life with him. The two enjoyed golf and spent winters in Palm Desert, Calif., at the Oasis Country Club and summers in Charbonneau. She is survived by her husband, Jim Mead; sister, Beverly Maw; children, Brad McCuaig and Jane Horton; grandchildren, Geoff Horton, Jamie Taylor Weber, Jake Horton, Stephanie McCuaig and Ian McCuaig; and great-grandson, Parker Horton. We think of Gerry as one of those strong pioneer women that knew how to enjoy life no matter what was thrown her direction. Donations may be made to The Boys and Girls Aid Society.
