Marian Sarah Gale

Gale, Marian Sarah 94 7/1/1915 4/15/2010 Marian Gale, a resident of Laguna Niguel, Calif., since 2005, died April 15, 2010, at age 94. 

She was born in Portland July 1, 1915, to Frank and Florence Stambaugh of Portland. In 1946 she married Walter Gale and was a homemaker in Portland and Salem from 1958 to 1966 and in Lake Oswego from 1966 to 2005, when she moved to Laguna Niguel to be with her son, Stephen. 

Marian was an active golfer and member of Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem and was a volunteer at Salem Memorial Hospital. Marian was a beautiful and elegant woman driving her always new and always white Cadillac. Prior to moving to Laguna Niguel, Marian, for many years, several times a month, had lunch at various restaurants with her "high school friends," a group of seven ladies who graduated from Washington High School. She outlived all of them except for her dear friend Olga Mount of Lake Oswego. 

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Gale; and daughter, Susan Gale McCloskey. She is survived by her sons, Stephen Gale of Laguna Niguel and Richard (Mary) Gale of Salem; granddaughters, Erin (Paul) McCloskey of New York City and Becca McCloskey of Denver; grandsons, Robert (Debbie) Gale and Michael Gale of Salem; and Jamie (Julie) Gale of British Columbia; great-grandchildren, Sarah Gale Martin and Andrea, Carley, and Jory Gale; and great-great-granddaughter, Layla Gale.
