DeLon, Thomas Thurman 80 09/02/1929 07/05/2010 On Monday July 5, 2010, a wonderful, loving man went to heaven to join his beloved wife, Arlene. Tom passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. Tom was born to James and Frances DeLon in Miles City, Mont. He was raised in Portland and graduated from Washington High School. After graduation he entered the U.S. Army. Tom owned and operated DeLon Auto Center in Salem for almost 50 years. He was an active member of numerous automobile associations and also was a member of the Columbia River Yacht Club, where he was the commodore in 1985. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, in Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, Salem. A celebration of life will follow in Rudy's at Salem Golf Club. There will be a private interment at Belcrest Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in his name to Willamette Valley Hospice, 1015 3rd St. N.W., Salem, OR 97304.
