Donald R. Falk

Falk, Donald R. 78 11/25/1931 08/06/2010 Donald R. Falk, of Portland, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2010. He was 78. Born in Granite Falls, Wash., Don was the son of Roy and Alma Falk. He was raised in Portland, and attended Roosevelt and Washington high schools. Don enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951, and proudly served during the Korean War. He married Coral Ramsey in 1953. Don retired from Union Labor Retirement Association in 1996, and was also a past business agent for Ironworkers Local 516. He loved to travel with his wife, friends, and family. Don enjoyed playing golf and wintered in Southern California. He was a charter and life member of the Gateway Elks Lodge since 1969, and a member of the Moose Lodge. Don is survived by his wife, Coral; daughters, Shelley Fontana (Frank) and Sandy Linnell (Greg); grandchildren, Nicole Donnelly (Ryan), Megan Vanderpool (Jason), and Zack Veselik (Mary); great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kirsten, Mariam, Elijah, and JoyAnna Vanderpool; Hannah and Nadiah Veselik; and Avalon and Cormac Donnelly; and sister, Shirley Warner. Private interment was held in Willamette National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, in the Moose Lodge, 16411 N.E.
