Teacher Coach Mentor Gerry Schloss

WaHi teacher / coach Gerry “Butch” P. Schloss of St. Helens, Oregon passed away on April 24, 2024. He was born on April 22, 1944. Mr. Schloss touched and impacted the lives of many while at WaHi.

Coach Schloss led the Cols to one of the biggest wins in WaHi history when the Cols shocked the Wilson Trojans 12 to 7 on their home field October 7, 1974 - putting the Cols in contention for the PIL crown for the first time since 1957.

The five-point WaHi victory ended a 30-game PIL winning streak for Wilson along with an 18-game string at Wilson. It was also the first time WaHi gridders had beaten Wilson since 1966.
