More Cols Selected For PIL Hall of Fame!

The Portland Interscholastic League has existed for at least 107 years, according to school records. On Oct. 14, the PIL will raise its Hall of Fame membership to 354 with the induction of 58 athletes and coaches.
 
The annual ceremony takes place at 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Portland Airport, 8439 N.E. Columbia Blvd. A reception starts at 5 p.m.

The keynote speaker will be one of the inductees, Robyn Biehler, a swimming star who graduated from the former Jackson High in 1974 and went on to coach water polo at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.
 
Bud Berg, 1947, football (all-PIL), basketball, baseball (state title, pitched for OSU playoff team)
 
Clarence “Moose” Johnson*, 1913, football (three-time all-PIL, national champion), soccer, track and field (PIL shot put and javelin titles), football (played at Oregon).
 
Donnie McPherson, 1969, football (all-PIL), wrestling (three-time PIL champ, one state title, competed at Portland State, coached at Jefferson), track and field
 
Dick Parker, 1946, football (all-PIL two-way back), track and field (PIL 100 champ, also won league title in 440-yard relay, member of Oregon Ducks).
 
Dave Powell*, 1948, football (all-PIL, Shrine Game, played at Southern Methodist)
 
Charles Williams*, 1920, football (all-PIL, all-conference at UO), basketball, track and field.
